3 Great iPods to Purchase in 2024!

Image
Hey, folks! Over the last few years, iPod modding has grown to be incredibly popular. There are tons of cool aftermarket parts and a thriving community of enthusiasts who keep these music players alive. The problem? Prices have gone up exponentially! The later iPod Classics have become extremely desirable, and now it's hard to get one at a compelling price. As a result, I have compiled this list of three iPod options that are often overlooked and offer excellent value. Refurbished iPod Nanos It's no secret that restoring iPod Nanos is nothing short of a nightmare. These devices are so compact that they require expert repair skills to even swap out the battery. Thankfully, people with these skills exist! Many people put new batteries in iPod Nanos and sell them on eBay for as low as $25. Quality varies, so you'll want to verify that the seller has good feedback. Do your homework, and you can get an excellent deal. Aside from the risk associated with buying someone else's

Photo Dump - Late March 2024

Image
Hi, everyone! I'm currently visiting Elk Rapids, Michigan, so I took the opportunity to get some pictures. I edited them in Photoshop, and I'm pretty proud of the results. Check them out: Bridge with motion blur. Just a twig thing. Green water. Hey, it's me! Used self-timer. Bridge (in color). Lots of shells. I go to seek a great perhaps. Denise by the water. Simple serenity. I've really tried to up my photo editing game lately, and I think it's starting to show. Anyway, I hope you liked these pictures, and thanks for looking!

A Quick Update

Image
Hey, everyone. I last posted around a month ago, so I wanted to share a few updates as to what has been going on since then. So, here are the happenings (in no particular order): The Tech Vault I quietly added this page to my website a few weeks ago. Basically, I share my cool old tech and what I use it for here. Check it out! PreBook 1.7.0 I hadn't updated PreBook in forever, and the auto-updater was no longer working. Thankfully, this has been fixed! There's something highly amusing about using Facebook Messenger on a Palm Pre. ;) Life Updates Lastly, I've been very busy with school until recently. As I mentioned in a previous post, I was in a theater production that consumed a lot of my time. Thankfully, it went well and I now have much more free time. With my senior year of high school wrapping up, I look forward to seeing what this next chapter brings. I also recently acquired a Sony DSC-H90 Digicam. This thing is a nugget..... But a cool nugget!

Dice Roller Pro for Palm OS

Image
Hi, everyone! When I was in middle school (and this blog was still fairly new), I created several Palm OS apps. Two of these were a simple dice roller and an even simpler random number generator. Neither of these apps was terribly useful, but they did pave the way for my newest Palm app. Introducing Dice Roller Pro! This is a much more sophisticated dice roller app, featuring the ability to roll multiple dice at once with up to 9 of each. I've also introduced the option to add a custom die (2-999 sides) if you're not content with the 7 included presets.  I've included an upgraded random number generator in the package, too! Simply click on the "Rand Num Gen" option in the app menu, and you're good to go! If you're playing D&D or need to make that big decision based on a random number, Dice Roller Pro might just be the app for you! You can check it out here .

Quick TuneSmith Update

Image
Yesterday, I released TuneSmith, a new Palm OS app that I made. I woke up this morning feeling inspired, so I decided to make a pretty major update to it. The result is version 1.1, which adds notes to keys for a more intuitive experience and updates sounds to be closer to a real instrument. It’s pretty neat, and you can download it over on GitHub if you’re interested. Enjoy!

Revisiting Palm Development!

Image
Greetings, everyone! I've become very interested in Palm OS devices again, and I've felt the urge to start developing some new apps for them. So, I finally found time to write the first Palm app I've made in years! I had to get reacquainted with NSBasic, my IDE of choice, but it didn't take too long. After I got back into the swing of things, I had the app ready in no time! This nifty little application is called TuneSmith. It's a musical keyboard app that lets you make simple tunes on your Palm OS device. You can change the duration, volume, and tone of the keys. It's really fun, and it works on pretty much any Palm out there. You can go ahead and grab TuneSmith from its GitHub  page. Have fun, but not too much fun!

My '09 Accord Upgrades

Image
Greetings, everyone! I've mentioned my car before on this blog, but I've never written a whole post about it. For some background, I am the proud owner of a 2009 Honda Accord EX-L (2.4L i-VTEC). Since I got it in late 2022, I've done several tweaks and upgrades to make it my own. Here are some of them! Awesome Window Decal & Spoiler This decal is the ultimate way of showing off how sick my 15-year-old economy car is. It's a HONDA, baby! I also stuck on a spoiler for good measure. Backup Camera & CarPlay Unit Not much to say here. LEDs and Lighting I swapped out the dome lights for blue LEDs and put some LED strips on the driver and passenger sides for that sweet blue aesthetic. Walkman Mount I saved the best for last! My buddy James installed a couple of metal brackets that clip to a Walkman by the driver's seat. I simply plug in the AUX cable, and I can listen to all my mixtapes! It protrudes a bit but doesn't get in the way. It's also super easy to
